Foto Friday: "The elusive Cardinal, Finally captured!!!"

After spending several months trying to get a good photograph of a male Cardinal, which resulted in failure after failure. I was either in too big of a hurry and the photo was blurred, or the bird was in a hurry and I didn't quite catch him.

Weekend Exposure, God does look down upon us.

Yesterday evening we had a very bad storm literally rip through our little town. Portable building tossed and smashed, Trees were over turned, ripped in half, twisted. The power in several areas was out for 12 to 16 hours.

A Quiet Place, My Foto-Friday Submition

There is a place, that is driven by, by hundreds of people every day. Many, I would guess, never really see this little lake, even though they drive by it every day. The Quiet place, may not be quiet per say, if you were looking at it from where it can be seen.

On Tuesday, September 21st, PA and I were out on one of our photo excursions, in the hopes of shooting another spectacular sunset here in East Texas. While driving down one of the county roads, we ended up on a long stretch of black top.

This is I believe, to be the best sunset I have ever captured to date. I hope you like it as well as I do. I even made it the second picture the background on my monitor. None of these pictures have been "touched up" with any photo enhancing program.

Since I was small, I have looked to the sky at sunset. No matter how my day went, no matter what bad, or good things that may have happened. I would always be mesmerized at the awesome, picturesque beauty of sunsets.

More Mosa to the Mimosa

Contrast in plant/shadow directions. A Mimosa tree that has been growing at the corner of our house, has been cut down, torn up, and cut down again, shows just how tenacious they can be. Maybe it has been so stubborn, just so I could share this picture.

When I was a younger man, I really enjoyed taking my mothers Nikon 35mm film camera out and burn up a roll of film. Of course the trick was taking that film in and get it developed.

Last year, spring 2008, I tried may hand at gardening in E. Texas. This was my first attempt at a vegetable garden in this new area to us. Having lived in Arizona for 13 years, we didn't have the space, nor the soil to grow a good vegetable garden, so moving to E.
